Portuguese Wine

Porta 6 White Wine from Lisbon Region (Episode 385)

We taste and review a Porta 6 white wine, produced in the Lison Region of Portugal.

The wine is very bright in it’s appearance in the glass having beautiful a golden yellow colour with a slight green tint.

The wine smells very nice with a similar smell to a Sauvignon Blanc, but with the added scent of pear and a hint of honey.

This wine is in fact made from the following blend of grapes: – Arinto, Viosinho, Chardonnay and Viognier, in order of the volume of each grape used.

The taste was wonderfully surprising with so much more power than the nose.

It is very true to what was on the nose, with the pear coming through and it has a great length.

One can also detect an apple taste similar to Granny Smiths’ apples.

The wine is very well balanced with sweet and sour both apparent giving this wine its balance.
