Red wine

Ramon Bilbao Tempranillo Wine Review (Episode 391)

In this episode, we taste another Rioja, the Ramon Bilbao Tempranillo, recommended by one of our viewers – Ben Allen.

The Tempranillo grape is used to produce Rioja and so John M is really excited to taste this wine. There is a vibrant purple colour to this wine, especially on the rim. It is very bright and clear.

On the nose, the wine smells delicious, with a very light and bright aroma.

In the video John L stated the wine was in oak for 9 months, this was an error, he sends his apologies, it was in fact in oak for only 3 months!

The taste is very pleasant indeed, with red cherry evident.

The length is relatively short, but for the price and for a relatively young wine this is not surprising.

This wine is very much a casual drinking wine rather than a wine for dissecting by a roaring fire. Every wine of course has its time and place.

This wine could be chilled making it ideal for warm summer days.
