Aldi’s Exquisite Range New Zealand Pinot Noir (Episode 111 Part 3)

In the last part of this episode, we taste a Pinot Noir from Aldi’s exquisite range.

The nose didn’t seem quite to have as much power as the Pinot Noir tasted in part 2.

On taste, this Pinot Noir is very pleasant, but perhaps not quite as complex as we would have hoped for, but at the price extremely good value.

Oyster Bay Pinot Noir (Episode 111 Part 2)

In part 2 of this episode, we taste another New Zealand Pinot Noir.

This wine had a much more ruby colour than the Brancott Estate Pinot Noir in part 1.

The nose had more power and taste had more style and richness about it.

The tannins were extremely well balanced certainly the best so far in this episode.

Brancott Pinot Noir (Episode 111 Part 1)

In this episode, we taste the first of our three NewZealand Pinot Noirs from Brancott Estate which was established in 1973.

John detected a smokey fragrance together with a hint of tyre rubber.

The taste was bright, light and fresh cherry and very light on the tannins. The aftertaste or “length” didn’t last very long to which John puts down to the lack of tannins.

New Zealand Pinot Noir Introduction (Episode 111)

In this episode, we taste Pinot Noirs from NewZealand the day after John returns for a “flying” visit to New York.

The New Zealand Pinot Noirs we tasted were The Brancott Estate Pinot Noir, Oyster Bay Pinot Noir and Aldi’s very own label Pinot Noir.

Tasting a Mud House Sauvignon Blanc (Episode 93 Part 3)

In the last part of this episode, we taste another Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand this time from Mud House winery.

This wine is available from Asda and although the most expensive of the three in this episode it is by no means, in our opinion, the best of the three.

A great wine but as you can see from the video it does quite float our boat, in the same way, the Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference version did.

A New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc from Sainsburys (Episode 93 Part 2)

In part 2 of this episode, we taste another Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand, this time purchased from Sainsburys at the competitive price of just £7.00.
The wine is from Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference range.

Both Johns were equally impressed by this excellent example of a Sauvignon Blanc.

Tasting a Marks & Spencer’s Pinot Noir (Episode 81 Part 2)

In part 2 of this episode we taste a Marks and Spencer’s Pinot Noir, so how will it compare with the Tesco Pinot Noir?

First off it smelt like John would expect a Pinot Noir to smell like compared to the Tesco version tasted in part 1 of this episode. John also felt it was more complex than the first, but he enjoyed the Tesco version more……

Tasting a Tesco Finest Pinot Noir (Episode 81 Part 1)

In the first part of this episode, we taste a Pinot Noir from the Tesco Finest Range.

For John, this is not a typical Pinot Noir as the taste reminds him more of a Cabernet Sauvignon.

However, it definitely gets the thumbs up from both of us for taste and value.
