Casillero del Diablo Cabernet Sauvignon Wine Review (Episode 286)

In this episode, we review the Casillero del Diablo Cabernet Sauvignon wine from Chile which is one of the top ten wines by volume sold in the UK.

The colour was a dark dense rich ruby, the smell or nose was very strong and had a lot going on!

This Cabernet Sauvignon from Casillero del Diablo has a very typical nose in that it is full of fruit and jammy!

Although there was also a smokey hint and John detected a hint of vanilla Taste-wise the cherry taste was full-on competing with a black currant taste.

The tannins seemed quite stringent which killed the length the taste lasted.

This wine would be great to pair with a robust cheese such as a mature cheddar or dishes with a robust taste. Dishes such as steak, goulash, spaghetti Bolognese or a heavy stew!

At only £8.00 this wine scored 76 from John M and a 78 from John L A solid wine to have in your cupboard for those occasions when you are in the mood for a wine that is nice enough on its own but is also robust enough to have with meaty meals.
