Tasting a Baron Herzog Old Vine Zinfandel (Episode 99 Part 3)

Wow, three out of three another wine that scores high on the J&J scale. Yet another fantastic Zinfandel, this time available from Waitrose in the UK, the Baron Herzog Old Vine Zinfandel.

We really struck lucky with all the wines in this episode and this wine with was a penny cheaper than the Ravenswood tasted in part 1, it is one classy bottle of wine!

Tasting Buena Vista Zinfandel (Episode 99 Part 1)

In the first part of this episode, we taste a Buena Zinfandel available in the UK from the M&S chain at a price of £15.

This wine achieved 90 on our personal score chart, only the second wine to achieve such a high score! The only other wine to achieve 90 was the New Zealand Sauvignon (Episode 93 Part 2)

A fantastic wine at its price (£15) we certainly enjoyed this one as I think you will have discovered when viewing the video.

Tasting a Great Red Portuguese wine (Episode 97)

In this episode, having read in the wine magazine ‘Decanter’ that Portugal is the place to be to discover some of the most exciting new wines to be brought to market, we decided to taste a sample from a vineyard in the Tejo wine region just to the North West of Portugal’s capital city – Lisbon.

The wine we tasted was Lobo e Falcao (Wolf and Falcon) The wolf part of the name comes from the Vineyard owners nickname and the Falcon part of the name comes from where the wine is produced in what used to be Portuguese Royalty’s Falconry.

What a great wine!
