We are tasting a Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference Carmenere.
A well-balanced wine which we felt could be enjoyed just on its own and not just with food.
In the first part of this episode, we taste a Carmenere from Tesco’s Finest range.
So what will we think of this first example?…
A quick introduction to episode 85, where we taste three Carmenere wines from the high street stores – Tesco, Sainsburys and Marks and Spencer.
Carmenere Episode 85
In part 3 of this episode, we taste another Malbec, but this time from Argentina.
Malbec is a signature grape of Argentina so our hopes were high that this wine would prove to be the best of the batch – was it?
…. More plum on the nose and in the taste.
It certainly has more length than the those tasted in part 1 and 2. It also tasted a little more than like a “typical” Malbec
In part 2 of this episode, we taste a Tesco Finest Malbec from South Africa.
This wine had a little more about it than the wine we tasted in Part 1, but perhaps still not quite a “typical” Malbec.
The first Malbec we try is a South African Malbec – The Weather Station from Marks and Spencer.
We were both a little disappointed with this one, perhaps because we both always ex[ect that much more from M&S?
We introduce this episode where we taste some Malbec from 3 supermarkets, namely Marks and Spencer, Tesco and the mystery Malbec from Sainsbury’s!
Which will, in our opinion, taste the best and which will be the best value for money take a look at the episode to find out…
In the last part of this episode where we taste a very nice Argentinian Cabernet Sauvignon from Marks and Spencer.
Full of fruit; blackcurrant and strawberry, very “jammy” and our favourite of the four tasted in this episode.
In the third part of this episode, we taste a South African Cabernet Sauvignon.
This Cabernet proves to be “very nice” balanced tannins, nice fruity flavour, with a reasonable length, ideal with John’s Mum’s Lamb Sunday Roast!
In the 2nd part of this episode, we taste a Cabernet Sauvignon offering from Marks and Spencer.
Perhaps unfairly, we always have a higher expectation when tasting an M&S wine and unfortunately, on this occasion, the wine didn’t live up to our expectations – take a look at the video to see why…
