Tasting a Marks and Spencer Pinotage (Episode 82 Part 3)

In this last part of this episode, we taste another Pinotage., but this time from Marks and Spencer.

This the oldest of the three we have tried in this episode being produced in 2013.

So will the additional age help make this wine better than the two rivals we have tasted?

Tasting Pinotage from Sainsburys, Tescos and M&S (Episode 82 Introduction)

We taste a Sainsburys, Tesco and M&S Pinotage Wine.
Take a look to see what you think.

Pinotage is South Africa’s signature grape.

The grape was created back in 1925 when the scientist Abraham Perold tried to find a way of creating a Pinot Noir that would grow successfully in South Africa.

He crossed a Pinot Noir and a Cinsaut (also know as a Hermitage) to produce a wine that has more of a resemblance to Shiraz than Pinot Noir.

Tasting a Sainsbury’s Pinot Noir (Episode 81 Part 3)

In the last part of this episode, we taste a Pinot Noir from Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference range.

Like the wine we tasted in part 2, this wine has the typical “nose”” (smell) of a Pinot Noir and the taste was spot on too! A great wine at a great price!

Tasting a Marks & Spencer’s Pinot Noir (Episode 81 Part 2)

In part 2 of this episode we taste a Marks and Spencer’s Pinot Noir, so how will it compare with the Tesco Pinot Noir?

First off it smelt like John would expect a Pinot Noir to smell like compared to the Tesco version tasted in part 1 of this episode. John also felt it was more complex than the first, but he enjoyed the Tesco version more……

Tasting a Tesco Finest Pinot Noir (Episode 81 Part 1)

In the first part of this episode, we taste a Pinot Noir from the Tesco Finest Range.

For John, this is not a typical Pinot Noir as the taste reminds him more of a Cabernet Sauvignon.

However, it definitely gets the thumbs up from both of us for taste and value.
